1st Gen. Russian Night Vision

This is a first gen. (mid- 1980's ?) Russian night vision device with a handle style IR illuminator. The scope and optics are in very good condition. The IR illuminator is currently not operational due to a battery that left corrosion on the terminal. I would imagine that someone with some electronics experience could get this functional again.The NV scope is in good working order and enhances objects in low light significantly. The magnification is 1x. This is fun as a useful device and interesting as an example of Soviet technology of the period.
Note: The 'green' image phosphors take a second to reach full intensity at 'on' and a little bit of time to 'decay' when the unit is turned 'off'. I had sold this item previously to someone who thought this to be a failure of the on-off switch, which was mistaken.
